WINEPROS – James Halliday June 19, 2002
Vivid fuschia; a fragrant and vibrant bouquet with cherry citrus fruit and spice aromas is followed by a palate which flows on logically, with sweet fruit on the mid palate, then a dry finish. A blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Dolcetto. Rating: 92 Points.
THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD - Good Living, Ben Canadiers – Top 10 Drops, 12th November 2002
No sickly sweet lolly water here; this is the real rose deal: herbal, satisfying, fruit-rich and with a touch of Angostura Bitters on the back palate.
DIVINE MAGAZINE – Ben Canadier, November/January 2003
A blend of Grenache, Cabernet, Shiraz, and Dolcetto, this is just gorgeous: round, mouth filling, packed with cherry and berry fruit flavour and with a lingering, balanced finish. Cordial for grown-ups and one of the best we can recall. Highly recommended.
AUSTRALIAN GOURMET TRAVELLER – Ben Canadier, February/March 2003
A blend of Dolcetto, Shiraz, and Cabernet here. Appropriately sweet and generous at the beginning, and then the herbal element takes over mid-palate. This is a big mouthful of wine.
DONNA HAY MAGAZINE, Summer 2003
Strawberries, raspberries and cherries jump out of this bottle. There is some sweetness left in the wine but it is so well balanced that you simply enjoy it. Divine with ripe tomato, garlic and basil pasta.
THE WINE ADVOCATE - Robert Parker, 23rd August, 2003
An excellent winery, Turkey Flat Vineyards has produced a 2002 Rose (a blend of 27% Shiraz, 38% Grenache, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Dolcetto) offering loads of strawberry fruit, medium body, and fresh lively aromatics as well as flavours. It should be enjoyed over the next 6 months. Rating: 90 Points.
GOOD LIVING – Huon Hooke September 3rd, 2002
A big flavoured Grenache-based Barossa rosé with just a smidgin of residual sweetness. It has a vivid, light purple-pink hue and a vibrant cherry, fruity bubblegum aroma. Clean, fresh and balanced, it’ll be great quaffing slightly chilled in warmer weather. A real crowd pleaser. Drink with: Antipasti.
SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION, Huon Hooke 2003
This is a clean, fruity, slightly grassy wine. Perhaps a bit of a Cabernet in it. Well balanced. Excellent fruit. It's not too sweet but it's grapey with esters, very fresh and youthful. Very new tasting wine. Vibrant. A real crowd pleaser. It went well with the food. (Top 100 Wine 2003, Best Still Rose, Sydney International Wine Competition).
