Large bottle 2018 rose

The Barossa Valley has the perfect climate and ideal grape varieties to produce Rosé. It is a wine style that should be enjoyed fresh and chilled.

Having been amongst the first to lead the great Rosé revival, it has been interesting to watch the popularity of this wine style grow.

Bucking the notion that Rosé is an afterthought, our 'Prince of Pink' has a special place in our hearts & is crafted with a clear purpose.

Sourced from specific sites achieving perfect yields promoting prominent primary fruit while retaining appealing palate cleansing crispness.

Enjoy with: Friends, under a tree on a hot, summer's day. Not summer? Just turn up the heat & serve with Asian or Spanish inspired spicy or seafood dishes. Best served chilled.

1995 Vintage Tasting notes

The 1995 Rosé follows the success of the 1994, and has become somewhat of a cult wine. Made from 70 year old vines, a light fragrant wine, typical of it’s kind. The Turkey Flat Rosé is produced accordingly to traditional Barossa methods, with precise control of the fermentation temperature. It is best consumed whilst young and full of fruit. Serve chilled.

The second Rosé from Turkey Flat was made at Charles Melton Wines. This year we added 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Shiraz to the Grenache to make an even better wine than before. The blending of these varieties gives the wine a lovely balance of sweetness, (though not too sweet) and is bordering on more of a light dry red style or as some have described it as a serious Rosé.

In the Weekend Australia, our 1995 Rosé was the first wine on the first page of James Halliday’s Best Red Wines under $15.00 a bottle in Australia (Nov. 25-26 issue).

1995 Rose - from one of the cult wineries in the Barossa

THE AUSTRALIAN MAGAZINE – November 25-26

From one of the cult wineries in the Barossa Valley, this blend of Grenache Shiraz and Cabernet is more a light red than a true rosé, or-as winemaker Peter Schulz says- more opera than operetta. Vibrantly fruity, but with fruit sweetness balanced by acid, it is best served slightly chilled. Drink: Now. Food Match: Seafood, Asian
