2016 Turkey Flat Rosé - a perfect aperitif

'One of the Barossa Valley's benchmark Rosés, always with a vintage variable blend of multiple varieties, and here clearly dominant in grenache at 95 percent of the makeup, 3 percent cabernet sauvignon and one percent each of shiraz and mature, together delivering a pale to mid-pink shine, enticing ripe and sticky-toffee-apple characters (without the sweetness), finishing crisply and very faintly off-dry. James Halliday on the 2014 Butchers Block Red

48% shiraz, 28% grenache, 24% matador. Without question one of the best Barossa examples of this blend, synergy its hallmark as it brings its array of red berries, plum and blackberry/cherry flavours onto the stage, empathically leaving confection behind. Great value. Drink to 2025. Red star great value. 94/100 -Halliday Wine Companion 2016
