2015 Turkey Flat Grenache - this is the way to do it.

Light bright cherry in colour, soft but alluring aromas of red berries and plums, bright zesty flavours and a finish which is smooth enough for current consumption and yet has enough grippiness to ensure that it will have a long life. An excellent example of the "new age" lighter brighter Grenache style, which so few wineries get right without leaving one with a mouthful of searing acidity on the finish. This is the way to do it- OUTSTANDING

2015 Butchers Block Red - Dan Traucki's Wine of the Week

THIS WEEK’S WINE REVIEW: In this day of instant everything (news, information, reactions, etc), one of the few things that’s out of step with the world is wine. Most wines, certainly most reds, need quite some time after release before they are really ready to drink – unless you like monster reds. Yes, there are a few winemakers who hold their wines back for a few years so that they are readier for consumption when released, but even Grange is now released a year earlier than it used to be. Therefore it is great to come across a wine that hits the ground running. No need to hide it away until it becomes more drinkable.

2015 Turkey Flat Grenache - clearly very good.

The grenache vines here were planted over 100 years ago. Each year, they still provide us with wine grapes from which we drink. Barossa grenache to a tee. Sweet and ripe and yet earthen and spicy. Firm-ish with tannin. Raspberried, tarry, a touch of campfire, plenty of juice, some warmth. The way tannin surrounds the fruit and keeps it all controlled and neat adds a touch of class; it elevates it. It’s clearly very good. Campbell Mattinson The Wine Front September 2016

2015 Butchers Block Red - drinks like a charm

It’s right in the zone. It’s an attractive blend of red and black berried fruit flavours, teamed beautifully with anise, leather and those dried, almost rusty spice characters so common in Barossa reds. It’s balanced, it’s ripe, it’s warm but not excessively so. Or not distractingly so. In short, it drinks like a charm, and has plenty of regional character.
