2014 Rosé - You'll love it

This is consistently one of my favourite rosés. Such a light and delicate style of wine, ironically from the home of big, rich powerful reds. It’s a multi-varietal blend, with a little dolcetto adding a lovely fragrant lift and a keen, persistently fine acid through the middle palate to the long finish. Finishes perfectly clean and dry. You’ll love it. 93/100 (Best drinking: Now to 2015. Alc: 13%)

2012 Shiraz - The Best Yet

A very good vintage results in a striking individual statement of Barossa shiraz. Vibrant and floral notes on the nose. Lovely meaty black cherry and earthy rose petal characters. Palate is seamless, with fine grained tannins and oak working harmoniously. Very long in the mouth. Such concentration and style, with a silkiness throughout. The best yet. 96/100 (Best drinking: 2018- 2034. Alc: 14.6%)

The scores are in!

It's the day that all Australian winemakers hold their breath for... the release of the new James Halliday Wine Companion and his associated scores... We're certainly no exception & eagerly logged in (with the rest of Australia, temporarily bringing down the site - oops!) - we can say we're very happy with what we found, being listed in the top 100 wineries of Australia, and the top 10 of the Barossa just the tip of the iceberg... Deep colour; the backbone of this wine comes from the vines planted in 1847 on the Bethany Road Vineyard, some of the oldest shiraz vines in the world; French oak was used at the end of the fermentation and subsequent maturation; everything it should be from '12, with layers of black fruits, licorice, tannins and cedary oak.
