Sparkling Shiraz - begging to be slurped with abandon

4 'glasses' This great Aussie celebratory spurge depends on wonderful sunshiny Barossa Shiraz, expressed in a dark and brooding manner with a mild oak background and good amount of sticky tannin and sweet fruits all begging to be slurped with abandon. Welcome to our new site

We're happy to present the new turkeyflat.com.au - after a lot of work, our new home on the web is live. We've reorganised information on all wines, making it easier to find tasting notes on any vintage and any wine you're interested in. After Christmas, we'll be opening our brand new online store. We've designed this to make stocking your cellar as smooth and fast as it can be. Keep an eye on the blog for this announcement. In the meantime, please contact us at Cellar Door - we're open every day except Christmas Day from 11am- 5pm. Alternately, you can use our simple order form, and email it to orders@turkeyflat.com.au, or fax it to +61 8 8563 3610. Cheers!

2010 The Last Straw -richly textured but not overly sweet

Inspired by the straw wines of the Rhone, this 100% Marsanne is made from grapes dried on old apricot (drying racks), then matured in 112-litre oak barrels. Complex notes of Brazil nuts, lime leaves, honeysuckle and tangerines. Richly textured, but not overly sweet, this would be a good match for tapas dishes as well as a cheese platter or dessert. drink 2013-2020 Decanter UK December 2012

2010 Butchers Block Red - a delight!

Turkey Flat 2010 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre, Barossa Valley, $28 – Inviting bouquet, well balanced on the palate. This wine was a delight and I was excited to finally try a wine from this winery of which I have heard many good things about! This wine was a tie with the second Riesling for favourite wine of the night. www.gourmetvicariously.wordpress.com December 2012
