2018 Turkey Flat Mataro - 94 Points “Don’t mind if I do. This is a grunty red with personality laid on thick. It tastes of ironstone, wild herbs, fennel, port wine jelly and dark leather, with both smoky/reductive notes and chocolatey oak wafting through. It’s not your standard fair, let’s say. It chops and churns, rumbles and rolls. It offers plenty on the nose and even more on the palate, though it remains fresh, frisky and buoyant. Beautifully Balanced

2017 Butchers Block Red Review: “Medium to full red to brick-red colour with the merest tinge of purple, the bouquet is subtle and earthy with spicy notes and a plummy edge. It's admirably fruit-driven. Peppery mataro is evident. The wine is medium-weight at best and savoury, with some forward-development evident. It's ready now, fairly mellow, beautifully balanced and very pleasant drinking.” - Huon Hooke.

Turkey Flat Grenache Wins Trophy

It has been a great 12 months for Turkey Flat, with our Grenache once again in the spotlight. This time it’s our 2017 Grenache being awarded the trophy for best ‘Other Red Single Varieties’ at The National Wine Show of Australia in Canberra. This award comes off the back of receiving a clean sweep of gold medals throughout the year on the wine show circuit, including 96 Points from James Halliday. Halliday also recently selected our 2017 Grenache in his ‘Top 100 Wines of the Year’ in addition to our 2017 Butchers Block Red & 2016 Shiraz.
