After a short break over the Christmas – New Year period, the Turkey Flat team are back in action. Vintage kicked off on February 3rd, the earliest start in our 26 year history. I reluctantly headed off to the UK for our UK distributors annual portfolio tasting, returning 12 days later to find a very full winery and a very happy, albeit tired winery crew. The fruit flavours and colour are sublime, 2015 is a stunning vintage. Mark, in his 7th vintage at TF, is leading the way ably assisted by Peter, known to all as Peaches, Baz and my son Alex. Yes, another son, I promise there are no more! Oli passed the baton to Alex and has headed off to the US to study. Alex has returned to the Barossa Valley after many years working overseas and domestically in both hospitality and the wine industry. It is a joy to have him back with his fresh ideas, there is already an exciting new addition planned for release later this year. While the winery crew are hard at work, the cellar door sales, marketing and events are not neglected. Our latest addition, a new kitchen, was just completed in time for our fringe event – the Secret Garden Party 2015. Many months of planning go into making this a successful day. The happy crowd were entertained by the beautiful melodies of Holly Throsby, Kaurna Cronin and Echo and the Empress & fed the most delicious picnic morsels by Tracy Collins paired with our finest wines. WOW what a day!

It has been the most incredible year celebrating our 25th anniversary: We’ve held our first event in the Adelaide Fringe, we’ve hosted & thoroughly enjoyed dinners at top restaurants around the country. James Halliday, Huon Hooke, Ralph Kyte-Powell, Ray Jordan & David Sly joined us here at the winery for a vertical tasting of all our Shiraz, what an honour that was! We were awarded the trophy for the Most Successful Exhibitor at the Barossa Wine Show. We popped up again in Adelaide, we released (and very quickly sold out of) 2 new small batch wines - and had a whole lot of fun in between! This got us thinking - how can we possibly finish this amazing year with a bang? Let’s share the love & celebrations with you…
