Louise Vadasz is exhibiting with us for SALA 2014 - her beautifully bright paintings bringing a splash of colour to our Cellar Door for winter... Born in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Louise Vadasz completed her Bachelor of Art in Fine Art at the South Australian school of art 1984. Over the past years she has exhibited in many group and solo shows in the SALA Festival and Adelaide Fringe . She was semi finalist in the Doug Moran Portrait Prize. Herd by Louise Vadasz is a collection of eclectic oil paintings depicting rural South Australia and imaginary themes with exciting colours and brush strokes.

This week we had the incredible honour of hosting some true gentlemen of wine writing here at our Bethany Road winery: James Halliday, Huon Hooke, Ralph Kyte-Powell, Ray Jordan and David Sly. Focusing on a vertical tasting of all 25 vintages of Turkey Flat Shiraz it was a fitting celebration of the hard work, dedication and determination is has taken to get to where we are today. James, Huon, Ralph, Ray & David, thank you for joining us and allowing us to share a little bit of our home with you.

Situated on the banks of the River Torrens its picturesque location is matched only by the delicious food of Chef Tony Carroll. Honestly, we love this place & holding a dinner here, showcasing our range of wines, is just a fine excuse for us to go back --- this time bringing you along for the ride! $120 per person

Turkey Flat Vs the World...

Celebrate Australian wine month with an evening at Turkey Flat. Throughout the month of May Turkey Flat will be launching three Cellar Sessions on a Friday night in our 1860’s Butchers Block Room. Our final tasting for the month is Friday 23 May titled ‘Turkey Flat Vs the World’ Australia undoubtedly makes some of the finest wines in the world. However there are also a few other challengers that certainly give it a go. During our third and final Cellar Sessions we will taste our wines against a selection from both the New and Old world. The joy of wine for me is that one grape variety can taste so markedly different from one town to another and from one hemisphere to another and this evening will show just that. From Napa to Provence, Rioja to our backyard, let the games begin!
