"A Beautifully Crafted Wine"

“From vines dating back to 1847, hand-picked, open-fermented with 10% whole bunches, matured in French oak (40% new) for 18 months. The price of this classic estate-grown wine has been increased, but not by much, leaving this as underpriced as it is a beautifully crafted wine with a history all of its own. It has power and presence, and above all a purity of taste and structure. The black fruits have waves and crosscurrents of flavour and texture, the finish long and balanced.” James Halliday, August 1st 2018

2017 Turkey Flat Mataro

“Here’s proof that Mataro is capable of impeccable ripeness and beautiful allure without booming alcohol or looming oak. Just eight months in French oak puncheons tones its black and ref fruits eloquently. It’s fragrant, medium-bodied, spicy, finely structured and downright delicious.” Tyson Stelzer, The Barossa Mag, September 2018 “Open-fermented with 20% whole bunches, matured for 6 months in French oak (50% new). Altogether elegant, likewise fresh and vibrantly juicy. The whole-bunch inclusion has worked very well, bringing a not of spice that will increase in the years ahead. Attention to detail is one of the many strengths to Turkey Flat.”

2017 Barossa Valley White - A Very Classy Act

"A blend of Marsanne, Viognier and Rousanne that is sooo smooth for such a young wine. It has beautiful aromas with a hint of honeysuckle. The palate is unctuous with great rounded smooth flavours and a lingering sophisticated finish. This wine is perfect to be enjoyed right now. A VERY CLASSY ACT." Dan Traucki

2017 Rosé - quality rosé from the get go.

Surprised to see this hit the WF pages so late in the season, and, shock horror, a $1 increase on RRP! That buck is likely going into the ‘proper’ winemaking going on in this wine, or at least, the elevation in quality, and decrease in reliance on sugar. I read somewhere that this is the driest version of TF Rose yet. Might be hearsay, but it’s in print now right here. Anyway, a good yardstick in bottle shops from here to Kingdom Come. Deeelicious. Easy drink. Dry as a autumn leaves. Prickles of spice amongst crisp, red berry fruitiness. A nice chalky edge to fine tannins. Good length. Squirt of grapefruity freshness to close and keep the mouthwatering. There’s so much to like here. No brainer. Quality rose from the get go. Mike Bennie
