2014 Butchers Block White - Mouth-filling, delicious, interesting wine.

A blend of around half marsanne with viognier the next most blended grape, and a lesser but significant portion of roussanne. An early adopter of white blends, particularly Rhone-ish things. Spends some time in oak too.

Ripper wine this. Smells like quince and lemon butter with some ginger spice thrown in. Light golden colour suggests richness, and it’s there – curvy edges but mouthwatering acidity underlying. Refreshing finish but layers of fruit, nougat and spice found throughout the palate. I imagine this with cold cuts or a terrine and how well it would go. Mouth-filling, delicious, interesting wine.
